East Clare Brigade – 1 Western Division
1 Battalion: Unit strength on 11 July 1921 was 391 all ranks, and the strength on 1 July 1922 was 124 all ranks. The companies of the 1 Battalion were located as follows: Carrigarra, Newmarket, Quin, Clonmoney, Sixmilebridge* and Ballycar. (* On 1 July 1922 the Sixmilebridge Company formed part of the 2 Battalion).
2 Battalion: Unit strength on 11 July 1921 was 368 all ranks and the strength on 1 July 1922 was 80 all ranks. The companies of the 2 Battalion were located as follows: Cratloe, Meelick, Clonlara, Truagh, Oatfield, Caherdavin and Sixmilebridge.
3 Battalion: Unit strength on 11 July 1921 was 146 all ranks and the strength on 1 July 1922 was 76 all ranks. The companies of the 3 Battalion were located as follows: Kilbane, Garrenboy, Bridgetown and Ogonelloe.
4 Battalion: Unit strength on 11 July 1921 was 380 all ranks and the strength on 1 July 1922 was 208 all ranks. The companies of the 4 Battalion were located as follows: Cahirhurley, Scariff, Mountshannon, Cooleenbridge and Tuamgraney.
5 Battalion: Unit strength on 11 July 1921 was 468 all ranks, and the strength on 1 July 1922 was 134 all ranks. The companies of the 5 Battalion were located as follows: Bodyke, O’Callagan’s Mills, Kilkishen, Tulla, Knockjames and Glandree.
6 Battalion: Unit strength on 11 July 1921 was 367 all ranks, and the strength on 1 July 1922 was 151 all ranks. The companies of the 6 Battalion were located as follows: Feakle, Annaghneale, Killanena, Flagmount, Cahir and Dromondoona.
