4 East Connemara- 4 Western Division

1 Battalion (Spiddal): Unit strength on 11 July 1921 was 245 all ranks, and the strength on 1 July 1922 was 127 all ranks. On 11 July 1921 this unit consisted of the following companies: Barna, Furbough, Spiddal, and Knock.  By 1 July 1922 the Barna and Spiddal companies were non-existent and the following companies were posted in from the 2 Battalion: Tully, Minna & Inverin and Cornarone.
2 Battalion  (Inverin): Unit strength on 11 July 1921 was 127 all ranks.  This unit in the formation given below did not exist on the 2nd critical date 1 July 1922.On 11 July 1921 the 2 Battalion (Inverin) consisted of the following companies: Rossaveal,  Tully,  Minna & Inverin and Cornarone.
  – 2 Battalion  (Rossmuck): This unit in the formation given below did not exist on the 1st critical date 11 July 1921.  Unit strength on 1 July 1922 was 472 all ranks. The companies that formed this unit on 1 July 1922 had been posted in from the 2 Battalion, 3 Brigade (West Connemara) and were:  Rossmuck,  Carraroe,  Lettermore,  Tiernea,  Ballinakill,  Lettermullen,  Clynagh and Camus.
3 Battalion (Moycullen): Unit strength on 11 July 1921 was 314 all ranks, and the strength on 1 July 1922 was 266 all ranks. The companies of the 3 Battalion were located as follows:  Moycullen,  Oughterard,  Killanin  and Bushypark.
