1 Battalion: Unit strength on 11 July 1921 was 359 all ranks, and the strength on 1 July 1922 was 276 all ranks.The companies of the 1 Battalion were located as follows: Nenagh, Kilruane, Puckane, Ballinaclough and Silvermines.
2 Battalion: Unit strength on 11 July 1921 was 388 all ranks, and the strength on 1 July 1922 was 298 all ranks.The companies of the 2 Battalion were located as follows: Moneygall, Toomevara, Cloughjordan and Gurtagarry.
3 Battalion: Unit strength on 11 July 1921 was 349 all ranks, and the strength on 1 July 1922 was 396 all ranks.The companies of the 3 Battalion were located as follows: Portroe, Ballina, Bushfield, Ballywilliam and Ballycommon.
4 Battalion: Unit strength on 11 July 1921 was 179 all ranks, and the strength on 1 July 1922 was 117 all ranks.The companies of the 4 Battalion were located as follows: Borrisokane, Kilbarron, Terryglass, Lorrha, Eglish and Balingarry.
5 Battalion: Unit strength on 11 July 1921 was 318 all ranks, and the strength on 1 July 1922 was 255 all ranks.The companies of the 5 Battalion were located as follows: Templederry, Kilcommon, Foilnamon, Curreeny and Killeen.
6 Battalion: Unit strength on 11 July 1921 was 189 all ranks, and the strength on 1 July 1922 was 268 all ranks.The companies of the 6 Battalion were located as follows: Newport, Birdhill & Ballinahinch, Killoscully and Lackamore.
7 Battalion: Unit strength on 11 July 1921 was 269 all ranks, and the strength on 1 July 1922 was 197 all ranks.The companies of the 7 Battalion were located as follows: Roscrea, Dunkerrin, Shinrone and Clonakenny.
An Active Service Unit was effective with the 1 Tipperary Brigade from October 1920 with a total overall strength of 47 all ranks. Personnel were attached to the A.S.U from the battalions of the brigade.
