1 Sligo Brigade North – 3 Western Division

1 Battalion: Unit strength on 1 July 1922 was 211 all ranks.  On 11 July 1921 this battalion was part of the Sligo Brigade, 2 Western Division.The companies of the 1 Battalion were located as follows: Sligo Town, Calry, Cararoe and Kilmacowen.
2 Battalion: Unit strength on 1 July 1922 was 247 all ranks.  On 11 July 1921 this battalion was part of the Sligo Brigade, 2 Western Division. The companies of the 2 Battalion were located as follows:  Grange,  Drumcliffe,  Magheran,  Ballintrillick,  Glenade.  Rosses Point and Cliffoney.
3 Battalion (Bundoran): Unit strength on 1 July 1922 was 185 all ranks.  On 11 July 1921 this battalion was part of the Sligo Brigade, 2 Western Division.The companies of the 3 Battalion were located as follows:  Bundoran,  Kinlough and Tullaghan.
4 Battalion (Manorhamiliton): Unit strength on 1 July 1922 was 275 all ranks.  On 11 July 1921 this battalion was part of the Sligo Brigade, 2 Western Division.The companies of the 4 Battalion were located as follows:  Killargue,  Glencar,  Duagh,  Mullies,  Manorhamilton,  Glenfarne and Kiltyclougher.
5 Battalion: Unit strength on 1 July 1922 was 11 all ranks. On 11 July 1921 this battalion was part of the Sligo Brigade, 2 Western Division.The companies in operation on 11 July 1921 are listed as Rossinver/Ballaghameehan, Lattoone, Garrison, Toura, Braade and Cashel, with only the Rossinver/Ballaghameehan company still in operation on 1 July 1922.

An Active Service Unit with a a total strength of 200 all ranks was effective in the Sligo 1 Brigade. Personnel were attached to the A.S.U. from the battalions of the brigade and the file contains listings of persons concerned.  No specific dates are given on file for the period during which the A.S.U’s were effective.
